Pins puncture large sheets of black velvet, forming pictures: a fleeing cowboy; the World Trade Center falling; President Obama’s favorite painting; Pepys’ encoded diary. The pinheads glitter as light strikes them. They bring to mind pixilation, radioactivity, molecules, stars, the image coming in and out of focus as the viewer approaches.
